All-purpose BBQ Marinade

I use this versatile marinade almost every time I BBQ chicken or shrimp. It’s the ideal balance of sweet, hot, and tangy for any meat that is going to hit the grill. You’ll be happy to keep re-using this recipe for all kinds of occasions.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp fresh chopped ginger
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1/2 cup EVOO
- 1 lemon
- 1/3 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 tbsp Worcestshire sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1tbsp spicy brown or dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 lb chicken, shrimp, or choice of meat
- 1 tsp red chili flakes
Directions
- Add all ingredients to a large ziplock bag, zip to secure, and shake vigorously to combine.
- Slice the lemon in half and squeeze lemon juice into bag, throwing the whole lemons in too.
- Add chicken, shrimp, or choice of meat and zip to secure. Let the marinade sit for at least one hour in the fridge before cooking.
