Easy Alfredo Linguine
                                    January 26, 2021
Alfredo is a classic sauce that you can put together quickly with very little effort. This is one I have on my back burner for when I don’t have many groceries in the house and want something really yummy and comforting.
This is a super basic recipe that you can spice up with red chili flakes if you like a little heat. Or add shrimp, chicken, or scallops along with some sautéed broccolini for a well rounded meal.
Ingredients
- linguine pasta noodles *or pasta of your choice
 - 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
 - 1 stick of butter
 - 1 1/2 tablespoons chopped garlic
 - 1 tsp Italian seasoning
 - 2 cups freshly grated parmesan
 - salt and fresh cracked black pepper to taste
 - lemon wedge for garnish *optional

Recipe
- Heat a pot of water on high, when it starts boiling, add linguine and cook according to package directions. Save 1/4 cup of pasta water.
 - In a large saucepan, heat butter and chopped garlic on medium-high for a few minutes. The butter should be lightly bubbling
 - Whisk in heavy whipping cream and Italian seasoning until combined and turn the heat to low
 - Whisk in 1/4 cup of pasta water, parmesan, and salt and pepper to taste
 - Add linguini to the sauce, tossing with tongs to gently coat pasta noodles with sauce
 - Serve immediately with wedge of lemon and fresh cracked black pepper on top *
