So the countdown to my wedding is quickly approaching the 4 month mark. This is when all those last minute details take over including my dress fitting and alterations coming up! Thankfully, I started my own little bridal “get-fit” plan early on and am reaping the benefits after the last few months of work!

No joke, I’m in the best shape I think I’ve been in since I was 19. Tbh, I might be more fit now! I’m ready to walk down the aisle looking my absolute BEST but I also just feel good in general. Here’s what I’ve been doing to get my bridal butt in shape:

1. F45 Class 6x a Week

My fiancé, Chris and I started training at F45 Thousand Oaks in November 2020. Through COVID, it had been hard to stay in shape with at-home workouts and I personally just don’t have the same drive when I workout solo vs. in a group setting.

I did F45 for the first time years ago just for one session in the Venice Beach location and loved it. Now that I’m a member, I love it even more! We go 6 times a week at 6:30am. and the classes are only 45 minutes, so it’s not hard to fit into a busy schedule. The morning class is the best in my opinion because by the end of the day I just want to relax, eat dinner, and catch up with Chris. I’d be too tempted to skip if I committed to the evening class, but they are available!

2. Intermittent Fasting Monday-Friday

Some people have mixed feelings about it, but intermittent fasting totally works for me! Generally speaking, I’m not usually hungry for breakfast and skipping it helps me realize when I am actually hungry later in the day. I try to eat more whole foods like veggies, nuts, and fruit, and have been staying away from eating much meat. That being said, sometimes you just need steak and ice cream, and I think that’s completely okay now and then.

I don’t follow a super strict fasting schedule and I think thats why it’s easy to keep going with it. If I’m really hungry, I’m not going to starve myself! My advice is to listen to your body and not to go too extreme on any diet – otherwise I think it becomes too hard to stick to.

*I’m not a doctor or dietician so please consult your doctor and do your own research before trying a new diet.

Putting in the work can be tough at first.

You might feel a little out of your element jumping around with weights and sweating your butt off in front of other people with no makeup at 6am every day. But a small amount of effort goes a long way if you stick with it over time! Don’t give up on your fitness goals because it’s never too late to start!
