New Hardwood Floor

While painting the kitchen cabinets was my first endeavor in making our new house a home, replacing the carpet with hardwood floors were the next big investment. I love the look of hardwood. Its sleek, natural, modern, and uncomplicated. Another convincing reason? Cleanliness! Puppies, kids, weekend guests, pool days, and holiday parties are among the many reasons that hardwood is simply more sustainable to keep pristine. Not to mention, the white carpet we moved in with is an outdated trend.

Before

We got lucky with choosing our hardwood as one of my best friends had recently redone her home with engineered hardwood as well. I showed Chris how good hers looked and he agreed, it was the exact style, color, tone, and material we wanted. She gave us all the info for the vendor she used and we even went with the exact same wood that she chose, because hey, hers looked perfect!

The carpet being ripped out was mild while the travertine (stone) parts were a bit noisy as they had to break it up and drill it into pieces to remove. Luckily for us, the carpet covered the majority of the house while the stone was a much smaller portion. Chris was able to stay in the home office and get work done while the floors were being installed downstairs.

After

The 3-4 person team we hired was awesome and they worked tirelessly to get the job done as fast as possible. As the house slowly became covered in hardwood, I got more and more excited for it to be finished!

The downstairs and stair portion of the project only took 2 days to complete. So fast! The upstairs is currently “coming soon” as we broke it up into two segments. We LOVE the new floors and I am so excited to start having people over to show it off!

Best,

Ashley Jo
