Our New Puppy, Cookie!

We are happy to introduce the newest member of our family, Cookie! She is a 4 lb mini Yorkie who loves cuddling with her mommy, and playing and running with her daddy! She is such a ball of love and now that she has joined our household I truly can’t imagine life without her. She is perfect!

I always wanted a puppy and spent my entire adult life telling myself *not yet* every time one of my friends got one. I wanted to wait for the right time and the right person (my husband) to make the commitment of adopting a dog. We rescued Cookie from a nonprofit in Van Nuys, CA called Pups Without Borders, who I found on Petfinder. Immediately upon meeting her, I fell in love and I know she did too because she didn’t want me to put her down! She was all love and just wanted cuddles and kisses from the moment we met.

Cookie got her name while we were on our way home from the adoption. My husband turned to me and said, “Cookie! She looks like a chocolate chip Cookie!” And I loved it! She is our perfect, tiny little Cookie girl!

We bring Cookie EVERYWHERE with us. She loves cuddling on my lap and has a tendency to fall asleep at restaurants. Her favorite places (other than being home with us) are the beach and the park! Cookie LOVES playing fetch and meeting other dogs so she especially loves the space to run outdoors and make friends.

Cookie has brought so much fun, love, and happiness to our home. She helps us stay active and gets us both outdoors way more than we did before. Sharing the responsibility of parenting a dog has been great for Chris and I in strengthening our bond and practicing for kids. We have had to learn to work together in taking care of her, cleaning up after her, and training her. Having Cookie join our home has really enhanced our relationship and brought a new level of love and appreciation for each other. Watching Chris love our puppy brings such joy and pride and love to my heart, I didn’t think I could love him any more than I already did but I do.
