Baked Brie with Fig Jam
                                    May 7th, 2021
This is perfect addition to boost your basic charcuterie board to a new level! It does take a little time to bake in the oven so be sure to plan ahead with time so that you can serve the baked brie while it’s still warm and gooey.
Serves 5-6

Ingredients
- one full wheel of brie
 - puff pastry
 - fig jam
 - 1 egg, beaten
 - Fresh French baguette, sliced (for serving)

Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
 - Sprinkle a clean surface or cutting board with a small amount of flour and roll out your sheet of puff pastry dough to a point where it can cover the entirety of the brie wheel with extra to overlap. On a baking sheet lined with parchment or a silicone mat, lay out the puff pastry and place the brie wheel in the middle of the dough. Top the brie with enough fig jam to cover the top surface of the wheel but not too much that it starts sliding down the sides. Too much jam will make it hard for the pastry to bake without sliding around or breaking open.
 - Carefully gather all the sides and corners of the dough to the top of the brie and with your fingers, twist and pinch the dough together in the middle, like a little purse satchel. If there is a lot of extra dough, use kitchen scissors to trim off the excess.
 - Using a pastry brush (or your fingers), brush raw egg all over the top and sides of the dough. Bake for about 30 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and flaky. Serve with sliced French baguette.

Enjoy!
